This render draws on the findings of German physicist Thomas Seebeck in the field of thermoelectronics, the so-called Seebeck effect, who discovered that an electric current flows between different conductive materials held at different temperatures. This principle was applied to the crypto-currency mining rig of the artwork to trigger a temperature gradient sufficient to generate the electricity needed to power a small electric car.
